Gros Piton Nature Trail Hike

 stars

Venture on a hike along the Gros Piton Nature Trail for varied and incredible views of St Lucia. Your tour begins at the interpretation center where you will view exhibits about the vegetation and birds found in the area and meet your knowledgeable guide. From there you’ll set off along the Gros Piton Nature Trail. The first half of the trail, which winds around the mountain’s base at a gradual gradient, is a moderate climb that can be enjoyed by everyone. Along the first section, enjoy panoramic vistas, including views of Choiseul Village and the Caribbean Sea. You’ll also explore Anse L’lvrogne Canyon where 18th-century rebel fighters hid during the island’s slave uprising.

The second half of the trail involves a steep ascent to Gros Piton’s summit – suitable for the more adventurous hiker. If you choose to continue on the strenuous but exhilarating climb to the summit, you’ll be rewarded with amazing views, including Petit Piton in the distance. The full, round-trip trail offers around four hours of hiking.
