New Honeymoon Trends
No longer are honeymoons thought of as lounging on in a beach hammock with your new spouse. In recent years there has been a trend in making your honeymoon something more unique and spectacular. Take a look at three new honeymoon trends to consider:
An adventure tour such as a luxury cruise up the Amazon with a hike to Machu Picchu, or a week in a Costa Rican eco-lodge are on the rise. Imagine holding hand while you river tube in Belize or kayak through a cave in Thailand to a secluded beach. Adventure trips not only provide a physical high, but an emotional one as well.
The complete opposite of what a honeymoon has traditionally been, group honeymoons are now becoming very popular. Whether it is two couples who have recently wed or blended family groups, the group honeymoon has arrived and is going strong. Sure, a honeymoon is supposed to be a time of relaxation and getting to know each other, but nowadays many couples have already traveled together and are looking for something more. It can extend the wedding celebration from a few days to a week or more.
Another new idea in sharing wedded bliss abroad is to get involved in a Voluntourism trip. On these vacations, newlyweds can participate in service projects that give back to the community. These activities can include everything from digging a well at a mission to bringing school supplies to kids in rural areas. It’s not only a great way to experience other cultures with your new spouse, but to feel great about it on the inside as well.
