Pools of Las Vegas
Vegas temperatures regularly exceed 100 degrees. Make sure that the hotel you select has a quality pool area for you to hang out and cool down. Here are some of our favorite pools of Las Vegas:
The Mirage landscape mirrors a desert oasis. It has a lagoon-shaped pool with a giant waterfall. Additional features include a hidden Jacuzzi, hidden waterfall bar, and an adult’s only European style sunbathing area. There is chair space, but be aware that people do line-up an hour before the open to grab one. Cabanas are available for rent.
The Mandalay Bay Beach Club is modeled after a beach, which includes a beach head made of nearly 3 tons of sand. The pool area is very large. It includes a wave pool, lazy river, three swimming pools and a jogging track. Be aware that there lots of kids at this pool and the chairs go quickly. If you have enough people in your party you might want to split the cost for a 16 person cabana.
This is a smaller pool, but right in the middle of the city. It’s worth talking about for the cool experience that it offers. One of the pool walls is shared with an aquarium. Since you cannot distinguish the glass underwater it feels as though you’re swimming with sharks. There is also a slide that takes you right through their tank. If you are here early enough you can reserve sitting areas that you do not have to pay for.
Hard Rock Hotel
This has to be the biggest party pool in Vegas. Their Sunday afternoon “Rehab” party gets jammed with lots of good looking young people and is the place to be. Another neat feature is the pool’s sand bottom (just like in the ocean) and swim-up blackjack tables.
