Cape Cod Restaurants

Cape Cod is a summertime vacation dream. With cool summer evenings, quaint towns and plenty of outdoor adventures, it’s great for everything from big family trips to quiet escapes. My favorite thing about the Cape? Food. Here are a few of my picks for Lower Cape Cod restaurants that you just can’t miss:

Best Clam Chowder: The Yardarm

The Yardarm is a classic pub, full of locals grabbing a beer and catching the Sox on TV. Order a bowl of clam chowder to start your meal off the right way. The Yardham’s chowder has been voted Best in the Lower Cape and that’s no joke. — 48 South Orleans Road (Route 28) Orleans, MA

Favorite Ice Cream Stop: Emack and Bolio’s

Yes, it’s a chain, but it’s an East Coast chain and if you’re up for some ice cream, Emack is a fun place to go. With flavors like Chocolate Addiction and Beantown Buzz, you can’t go wrong. Have a cone, lounge outside and you’re set. — Route 6A, Oracle Square Orleans, MA

Favorite Family Clam Shack: Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar

The lobster rolls at Arnold’s have been voted #1 for years on end, but you also have to try a basket of fried clam strips. They’ll disappear in minutes. The fish and chips and clam chowder won’t let you down either. Find an open picnic table and grab a fair share of napkins. When you’re done, play a round of mini-golf just outside the Arnold’s entrance. — 3580 Route 6 Eastham, MA

Best Place for Dinner: Nauset Beach Club

Ideal for a nice family dinner or date night, Nauset Beach Club is an upscale Italian restaurant. The quaint, elegant dining room and soft jazz music serenading your ears adds to the sophisticated atmosphere. You’ll love the place before you even take one bite. Here you’ll find unbelievable risotto, delectable soups, and the perfect wine pairing to accompany your heavenly three-course meal. — 222 Main Street East Orleans, MA
